L-arabinose

L-Arabinose, also known as gum arabic sugar, is a natural pentanal sugar found in plants. It is commonly present in plant raw materials such as gum arabic, corn cobs, and sugarcane bagasse. After extraction and purification, it appears as a white crystalline powder, odorless, with a slightly sweet taste, easily soluble in water, and excellent stability. It can be widely used in food, health product and other fields.

Description

Core Characteristics and Functions

  1. Regulating Sugar Absorption: As a sucrase inhibitor, L-Arabinose can specifically inhibit the activity of sucrase in the intestinal tract, reduce the efficiency of sucrose decomposition into glucose and fructose, thereby lowering the rate of postprandial blood glucose rise. At the same time, it reduces the conversion and accumulation of sugar in the body, providing support for people who need to control sugar intake.

  1. Assisting in Weight Management: By reducing the absorption of sucrose, L-Arabinose can lower the intake of effective calories from food. Meanwhile, its property of being difficult to be digested and absorbed by the human body can increase satiety and reduce overeating. Reasonable long-term use is helpful for weight management and maintenance.

  1. Improving Intestinal Health: The unabsorbed L-Arabinose enters the large intestine and can act as a prebiotic to promote the growth and reproduction of beneficial bacteria (such as Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus) in the intestinal tract, regulate the balance of intestinal flora, and at the same time promote intestinal peristalsis to help maintain the normal physiological function of the intestine.

Application Fields

  • Food Field: It can be used as a functional sweetener or additive in the production of low-sugar/sugar-free foods, such as low-sugar beverages, baked goods, dairy products, candies, etc. It retains the sweet taste of food while reducing the
